Day 2: Barbados

Barbados was one of the more commercialized islands, but still gorgeous. We went with Chris and Loma on the Swimming with the Turtles excursion which we snorkeled with sea turtles, saw an underwater shipwreck and also lounged on the beach.
Our cruise ship, Adventure of the SeasOn the little boat on our way to the excursion
All geared up in our snorkel stuff!
On a beautiful beach in Barbados. The water was incredibly warm! We could have stayed in there all day! Funny story...While Loma's Chris, my Chris and myself were all swimming in the water, Loma decided she needed to walk down the beach to where some palm trees were to get these gorgeous shots. Behind her were what looked like just abandoned buildings and she said she kept hoping no one was around. When she started heading back, she noticed something and tripped while trying to turn around and her hand was caught by a local who had snuck up behind her. Apparently, this man (with all of his 4 teeth) asked Loma for some...umm...we'll call it "sugar" and kept insisting all the way down the beach until she got near us. Then he finally gave up. Loma got some great shots while she was over there though! For dinner that night, we ate at the Italian restaurant on board the ship called Portofino. Costco had given us vouchers (because this place actually costs extra) so we got in for free, but it would have been well worth it to pay $20 per person for the amazing food we got! Filet mignon! Delicious! Dessert time: tiramisu and the whole cup was edible chocolate! That night on the ship was also 70's night! We had a disco in the Promenade and the Village People even showed up!!

Coming tomorrow: St. Lucia!
