January

We had a pretty normal month. Here are the highlights:

Daddy daughter dance

Chris took Peyton to her school's annual daddy daughter dance. She was super excited to go, but they ended up coming home early because she wasn't feeling good. She ended up getting strep throat! Poor girl.

Date Nights

My 27th Birthday
Spent a nice day with my family and then got to have a girl's night out!

Normal Life
If there was one picture that could describe Bridget, this would be it. Messy hair, no pants, huge mess in the background and putting stickers on everything.

Summary:
In an alternate United States, love has been declared a dangerous disease, and the government forces everyone who reaches eighteen to have a procedure called the Cure. Living with her aunt, uncle, and cousins in Portland, Maine, Lena Haloway is very much looking forward to being cured and living a safe, predictable life. She watched love destroy her mother and isn't about to make the same mistakes.
But with ninety-five days left until her treatment, Lena meets enigmatic Alex, a boy from the Wilds who lives under the government's radar. What will happen if they do the unthinkable and fall in love?

My rating: 3 out of 5 stars

My review:
While I enjoyed this book, it definitely isn't making it to my top ten or anything. Interesting storyline and an ending I wasn't expecting (until a few pages before it actually happened). I will be reading the sequels, but this probably won't be a book I tell all my friends is a must read.

Mondays

Mondays at my house means clean sheets and towels day. I strip all the beds and wash every towel that's been used in the last week. I love slipping into my bed at night and smelling clean sheets. Great way to start the week.

So it's been a year and a half since I've done this blogging thing, but I want to start it up again. I got the itch when I was going through some old posts and read a couple things I didn't even remember happening!! I just want to keep a record for my kids. I'm sure they will appreciate it one day.
