Book Review Monday - Week 34

Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden

My rating: 5 stars

Summary: The "memoirs" of one of Japan's most celebrated geishas describes how, in 1929, as a little girl, she is sold into slavery, her efforts to learn the arts of the geisha, the impact of World War II, and her struggle to reinvent herself to win the man she loves.

My review: One of my all-time favorite books! I love to get lost in the culture and storyline. I find books about other cultures so fascinating just because they are so different from my life. Even if you've seen the movie already, read this book!
