I never understood the appeal of biscuits and gravy, until I tried it for myself. YUM! I just used a store-bought package of biscuits, but if you are motivated, you can make homemade ones.
Sausage Gravy
1 lb. pork sausage
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
2 1/2 cups milk
Salt and pepper, to taste
In large skillet, crumble and brown sausage; drain and set sausage aside. In same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and whisk until smooth. Gradually whisk in milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and begins to boil. Add sausage; mix well. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve over biscuits.
